Dry Falls
On US-64 near Highlands (about 20 minutes from Franklin)
A 75-foot waterfall you can walk behind—without getting drenched. Paved path from parking makes it great for all ages. Easily one of the most popular waterfalls in the region.

Cullasaja Falls
On US-64 between Franklin and Highlands
A dramatic, roadside cascade that drops over 250 feet. Best viewed from a pull-off along the scenic drive. Particularly impressive in spring and fall.

Rufus Morgan Falls
Off Forest Service Rd 388, west of Franklin
A peaceful 1-mile loop trail through rhododendron and hardwood forest leading to a beautiful 60-foot waterfall. A local favorite and great for families.

Glen Falls
Just past Highlands, NC
A moderate hike that rewards you with views of multiple cascading falls along a well-maintained trail. Bring good shoes—it can be slick in places.

Big Laurel Falls
Along the Standing Indian area (via Forest Service Road)
A short 1-mile hike to a tucked-away 25-foot waterfall surrounded by mossy boulders and forest. Easy and serene, great for a shaded afternoon.

Mooney Falls
Near Standing Indian Campground
A lesser-known but stunning 18-foot drop accessible via a 0.6-mile hike. Quiet and off the beaten path—ideal for solitude seekers.

Bridal Veil Falls
US-64 near Highlands
A unique roadside waterfall that you can actually drive under (depending on road conditions). Great for photos, especially after rainfall.
